Amylase is also sometimes called a starch blocker. As the name suggests, it prevents the body from absorbing dietary starches. It is present in the saliva. Chymotrypsin (bovine ? chymotrypsin: PDB 1AB9, EC 3.4.21.1) is a digestive enzyme that can perform proteolysis. It is synthesized naturally in human body by pancreas by protein biosynthesis. They facilitate the cleavage of peptide bonds by a hydrolysis reaction, a process which otherwise occurs extremely slowly in the absence of a catalyst. The main substrates of chymotrypsin include tryptophan, tyrosine, phenylalanine, leucine, and methionine. Chymotrypsin is also found to hydrolyze ester bonds in vitro.

Lipase.

Lysozyme is also known as muramidase or N-acetylmuramide glycanhydrolase. It is an enzyme that is commonly found in egg white, tears, mucus, saliva, human milk, and other secretions. It has a potent antibacterial property. It is capable of damaging the cell walls of bacteria through hydrolysis. The enzyme works by attacking the peptidoglycans of bacteria and breaking down the chain of carbohydrates protecting the bacteria that causes it to burst and be destroyed. Lyzome is in fact the first antibiotic which Alexander Flemming developed into penicillin. It is sometimes added to infant formula to improve immunity to make it resemble human milk. Lyzome also helps in treating sore throats and canker sores.

Papain is a mixture of proteolytic enzymes derived from the fruits of papaya and certain other plants. It helps catalyze several chemical reactions within the cells, particularly digestive enzymes. Papain acts by mildly soothing the stomach and aids in the digestion of protein. It relieves heartburn, indigestion, treat ulcer, and regulates the acidity in the stomach. In fact, Papain is often used tenderizer for meat. It is also an effective anti-inflammatory agent. It is also used to dissolve membranes in diphtheria and reduce fever, swelling and adhesion. Topically, it is used to cure boils, warts and freckes, and to treat burns and sore throat. Papain also has anticarcinogenic properties.
